Rahim Yar Khan: Rescue 1122 organized awareness walks and rallies on the occasion of National Disaster Day In Rahim Yar Khan,
Representatives of various government agencies, Punjab Police, Traffic Police, Safe City Authority, students, Civil Defense, RYK Relief Welfare Organization ,Reds Pakistan, social workers and citizens participated in the awareness rally along with Rescue 1122. The rally, supervised by District Emergency Officer Dr. Adil-ur-Rehman, started from City Bridge and ended at Dua Chowk. The participants were holding banners and placards in their hands on which messages of disaster prevention, precautionary measures and public awareness were written.
District Emergency Officer Dr. Adil-ur-Rehman, while speaking on the occasion, said that
“It is very important to raise public awareness to deal with natural disasters and accidents. The aim of Rescue 1122 is not only to provide assistance after accidents but also to enable the public to prevent accidents through training and information.”
He further said that it is the responsibility of every citizen to ensure safety measures in homes, schools, offices and markets so that the damage is minimized in any emergency situation. At the end of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of those who died in natural disasters.
A seminar on disaster prevention was held at the Rescue Training Hall. In which a large number of volunteers including Reds Pakistan Project Manager Shafqat Sardar and Anthony participated. The rescue instructors discussed the joint strategy of Rescue 1122 and Reds Pakistan in disasters on this day. Similarly, a training session was held on taking timely measures to prevent disasters.
